I am an amateur sculptor. My place of creation is my veranda. My medium is Clay. With nature all around me and the music of the birds creating the ambience, I can spend hours upon hours on my piece and never realize it. The natural setting and the silence lends itself to creativity and passion to work on the smallest of tasks to create perfection. There are times I can spend four hours on a nose or ear and I know I am not alone in this passion. The Eastern shore is filled with creative artists, painters, carvers, photographers, writers and like me, sculptors…with each piece we feel a sense of accomplishment, with each piece we take ourselves to a different world of calm, with each piece we envision the next!
If you are an art lover, there are many venue’s that you can attend to view, appreciate and even buy art. Many of the local towns have what you may have heard of such as “first friday of the month” or “first Saturday of the month”. Each town is different. Easton, MD holds its Artists’ appreciation day on the First Friday of the month, where Denton, MD holds it on the First Saturday of the Month.. this makes it easy for the visitor to make a weekend out of it and attend both!
